How to Get Involved​
There are plentiful ways to get involved with SOL. Become a SOL Garden member, rent a raised bed, volunteer at workdays, or donate to the club. Read more about each option below!

We also need plenty of leaders to run the club. Email us if you have any interest in running our social media, writing blog posts, garden design, fundraising, planning events, campus collaborations, contacting volunteers, or other aspects of running a successful gardening club.

Workdays also serve as a time for club members to discuss and plan. Aside from these workday meetings, club members also meet every other week to take care of "internal" aspects of the garden. Email for further deails!

Workdays
​
Most workdays are coordinated by SOL Garden members during club meetings, but individuals are always welcome to come by a workday. Additionally, organizations can email us at solgarden-org@ncsu.edu to schedule group workdays.

Expect to meet a lot of friendly people from diverse majors or areas of graduate work who share your interest in sustainable gardening.
Fair warning, expect to get dirty! We believe people best learn new things by understanding the where, when, and why of any given task. Hence, garden managers and experienced volunteers make an effort to explain the philosophy and science behind the various agricultural practices you observe. So expect to learn a bit, too.
Bring whatever you need to work comfortably in the outdoors for 2 - 3 hours. Most volunteers dress in apparel they can move in comfortably and get dirty. Some bring gloves and sunscreen. We strongly encourage you to bring a full bottle of drinking water to stay hydrated (even on cold days!)

Support Us
​
There are numerous ways you can help support the garden outside of volunteering at a workday. We depend on donations, sponsorships, and the work of volunteers to maintain this garden at NC State University. Personal donations in any amount are welcome and appreciated.
