SOL Garden
Students for Organic Living

SOL Garden is NC State's on-campus student organization and garden. The official home of SOL Garden is Parents Park, located behind Fountain Dining Hall and neighboring Doak Baseball Field. The mission of SOL Garden is simple: to provide an educational and demonstrative space for those who wish to learn more about sustainable gardening, as well as provide a space for members both within and out of the gardening and NC State community to connect, share knowledge and experiences, and grow.

Throughout the year, we host multiple workdays with opportunities to volunteer. Some of the tasks consist of those never-ending jobs for an organic gardener: planting, weeding, watering, and maintaining garden aesthetics. Others are dependent on our current projects. Environmental Stewardship
​
One of the club's greatest underlying aims is to cultivate an appreciation for and encourage a peaceful interaction with nature. Our student volunteers see immediate benefits to living in harmony with their natural environment.

Projects
​
We are very open to students' individual projects. If you have a project you would like to make happen at the garden, tell us about it. Past projects include a pollinator garden, a speaker series, herb spiral, greenhouse, composting site.
